GU Women’s Golf in Third at Princeton Invitational

WASHINGTON – Following two rounds of play at the 2024 Princeton Invitational, the Georgetown University women's golf team is currently in third place at the two-day tournament. Princeton is hosting the 54-hole tournament at the par-71, 6,086-yard course at Springdale Golf Club in New Jersey. The Hoyas used a strong second round to surge up to third place at 31-over 599 (307-292), one stroke out of second place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Megan Gormley tops the Hoya leaderboard as she is tied for seventh at 5-over 147 (75-72). Gormley's score is fueled by a pair of birdies, one apiece in the first and second rounds, to go along with 28 pars (13/15) on the day.
  • Charlotte Hillary is second for the Hoyas with a two-round score of 6-over 148 (77-71) to tie for 11th place. Hillary's even 71 in round two was the best round for a Hoya on the day and her two-round score included four birdies (1/3) and 23 pars (11/12).
  • Carding an 8-over 150 (76-74) following two rounds of action, Georgia Ruffolo is currently tied for 16th place.Ruffolo turned in four birdies with one and three in the first and second rounds, respectively, to go along with 11 and nine pars, respectively, totaling 20.
  • In the third tournament of her freshman season, Gabriella Eifrig is tied for 30th at 12-over 154 (79-75) following two rounds of action. Eifrig's six birdies (2/4) and 14 pars (8/6) bolstered her two-round score.
  • Tina Tang is sitting at 63rd in her Hoya debut with a two-round score of 22-over 164 (83-81). Tang totaled four birdies, including three in the first round, to go along with 14 pars (4/10).
  • Also in her Georgetown debut, Olivia Ty is right behind Tang at 23-over 165 (80-85) to tie for 64th place. Ty managed six birdies, three apiece in each round, as well as six pars apiece in each of the first two rounds, totaling 12 on the day.

UP NEXT
The Blue & Gray will be back for the conclusion of the Princeton Invitational on Sunday. The Hoyas will take a few weeks off before closing the fall season at the Blue Hen Invitational on October 19-20, hosted by the University of Delaware at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
