Men’s Golf Wins 41st Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate, Blake Claims First

WESTFIELD, N.J. – The Georgetown University men's golf team delivered a dominant performance at the 41st Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate, capturing the team title in a competitive 11-team field at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield, New Jersey. The Hoyas carded rounds of 301 and 288 (+21) on the par-71, 7,202-yard layout to finish with a winning team total of 589 over the 36-hole event. Leading the way for the Blue & Gray, Barnes Blake claimed his first collegiate individual title, pacing a strong Georgetown lineup that saw all five players finish inside the top 20.

Head Coach Tommy Hunter

"I'm really proud of the guys. Mother Nature was in a bad mood with brutal conditions on the opening day. We needed patience and grit to finish our work yesterday and they delivered. Barnes' performance was terrific - he is a true champion"

Hoya Results

  • Blake led the way for the Blue & Gray with a memorable performance, capturing his first individual win of his collegiate career in dramatic fashion. After opening with a 76 in round one, he stormed back with a sensational 67, the lowest round of the entire field across both days. The title came down to the wire, decided on the 18th hole of the final round and ultimately settled in a match of cards tiebreaker that Blake emerged victorious in.
  • Drew Schauenberg showed up big for the Hoyas this week, finishing tied for sixth at 6-over par. He opened strong with a 70 (-1) on day one, the leader after the first round and only player on the day to shoot under par, before closing out Tuesday with a 78 (+7).
  • Alan Rose turned in a solid tournament, finishing tied for 20th at 10-over par. Rose bounced back from a 79 (+8) in round one with a composed 73 (+2) in round two.
  • Carson Erick also finished tied for 20th at 10-over par. After posting an 80 (+9) in his first round, Erick rebounded with an impressive 72 (+1) on the final day.
  • CJ Winchenbaugh rounded out the group of Hoyas in the top 20, also finishing tied for 20th at 10-over par after posting consistent rounds of 76 (+5) on both days.
