No. 18/24 Hoyas Travel to DePaul on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The No. 18/24 Georgetown University men's soccer team will head out to battle the DePaul University Blue Demons on Saturday in Chicago at Wish Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The BIG EAST Conference matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (7-3-3, 3-0-1) is coming off of a big 4-1 victory over the UConn Huskies last Saturday. UConn went up early, but the Hoyas answered with four-straight goals including three in the second half to get the win.
  • For his efforts against UConn and in a 2-1 loss to Denver in nonconference action, senior Zach Zengue was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
  • For the week, he tallied three goals, including going 2-2 on penalty kicks, and one assist for seven points.
  • Facing Denver, Zengue scored the Hoyas lone goal off of a penalty kick in the 2-1 loss.
  • Against UConn, Zengue managed two goals and an assist as the Hoyas won 4-1.
  • It was his third-career weekly award and the fifth for the Blue & Gray this season.
  • Zengue is leading the squad in scoring with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points on the season. He is third in the nation in total goals, and is third in the country in points.
  • Sophomore Mitchell Baker is second in goals with five on the season, while junior Matthew Van Horn leads the squad in assists with six which ranks him 19th in the nation in helpers.
  • Senior Tenzing Manske has played 1,125 minutes in the goal and has a 0.85 goals-against average as well as six shutouts and 29 saves.
About the Blue Demons
  • DePaul is currently 2-5-6 overall and 0-3-1 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The squad is coming off of a 3-2 loss to Akron last Saturday in Ohio.
  • The Blue Demons and Zips were tied with just 90 seconds remaining, when Akron found a late tally to pick up the win.
  • DePaul is led by Keagan Pace who has four goals for eight points on the season. He is followed by Noah Hernandez with three goals for six points on the year.
