WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team defeated the Providence Friars, 3-1 (25-16, 25-21, 16-25, 26-24), on Saturday evening at Alumni Hall in Providence, Rhode Island. With the win, GU improves to 11-10 and 4-4 in BIG EAST play on the season while the Friars slide to 10-11 and 1-7 in conference play..

Hoya Highlights

• Samantha Soderlund and Katherine McGregor led a trio of Hoyas in double figures with a squad-best 16 kills apiece. Grace Albaugh rounded out the Hoyas in double figures with 11 kills of her own.
• Five Hoyas recorded an ace behind the service line with Soderlund, Albaugh, Juleigh Urbina, Taylor Mercado and Jade Smith.
• Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Soderlund led on the defensive end with two blocks each. 
• Urbina paced the offense with a career-best 49 assists.
• Albaugh led GU with 16 digs on the floor.
