Women’s Golf Takes Runner-Up Honors at Lady Blue Hen Invitational

WASHINGTON – After three rounds of play at the 2025 Lady Blue Hen Invitational, the Georgetown University women's golf team carded a three-day score of 19-over 883 (293-293-297) to take runner-up honors at the tournament hosted by the University of Delaware. The Hoyas faced a 12-team field on the par-72, 6169-yard course at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The host Blue Hens won the tournament by eight strokes at 11-over 275.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sunny Wang was the top Hoya on the leaderboard as she tied for fifth at 3-over 219 (77-71-71). With a pair of 71s in rounds two and three, Wang matched two other Hoyas with the best score in any round for the Blue & Gray. Over 54 holes, she tallied 10 birdies (2/4/4) and 32 pars (10/11/11).
Mimi Burton was the second Hoya on the leaderboard, tying for seventh at 4-over 220 (71-75-74). Her 71 ties for the best score in any round for Georgetown. Across three rounds, Burton recorded nine birdies (3/2/4) and 35 pars (13/12/10).
Milla Sagel was one stroke behind in 11th place at 5-over 221 (71-74-76). She was the third Hoya to shoot a round under par with her 71 in the first round. For the tournament, she managed nine birdies (4/3/2) and 34 pars (12/10/12).
Georgia Ruffolo finished in a tie for 26th at 9-over 225 (74-75-76). Over 54 holes, she managed six birdies (2/0/4) and a squad-best 37 pars (12/15/10).
Gabriella Eifrig finished in a tie for 31st at 11-over 227 (78-73-76). She managed seven birdies (3/2/2) and 33 pars (8/14/11) during the tournament.
Playing as an individual, Catherine Qiu placed 48th at 17-over 233 (77-76-80). Following two days of play, she tallied five birdies (1/3/1) and 30 pars (13/8/9).
