WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team is set to return to McDonough Arena for more BIG EAST play. The Hoyas will face Xavier on Friday, October 3, and take on Butler on Saturday, October 4. First serve for both matches is scheduled for 7 p.m.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown enters the third year under Head Coach AJ Bonetti.
- The Hoyas are averaging 12.3 kills per set with a .220 hitting percentage, while adding 13.2 digs and 2.0 blocks per set on defense.
- Georgetown is 2-0 in BIG EAST play for the first time since 2018, when the Hoyas opened league action with three straight wins over St. John's, Villanova, and Seton Hall.
- Dionna Mitchell, Samantha Soderlund and Maria Filippova lead the offense. Mitchell has been pacing the attack with 193 kills, a .211 hitting percentage, and 3.22 kills per set. Soderlund and Filippova are close behind, with 119 and 111 kills, respectively. Soderlund is boasting 2.44 kills per set and Filippova is averaging a .243 hitting percentage and 1.98 kills per set.
- Mitchell leads the squad with 25 service aces on the season. Juleigh Urbina has notched 21 aces and Kamryn Lee-Caracci has 18.
- At the net, Lee-Caracci leads the defense with 41 total blocks, followed by Berkeley Ploder and Katherine McGregor with 39 and 37, respectively.
- Graduate transfer Jade Smith has made a strong debut, posting 143 digs and averaging 2.55 per set in her first season with the Blue & Gray.
- Urbina paces the squad with 380 assists at setter, posting 6.33 per set.
- The Hoyas welcomed five newcomers to the roster in 2025: Jessica Lee, Katherine McGregor, Sydney Mercado, Fiona Turnbull, and Samantha Soderlund.
