NEW YORK CITY - Senior guard
Victoria Rivera earned BIG EAST Conference Preseason All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention at the league's annual women's basketball media day held at Madison Square Garden in New York on Tuesday. Additionally, the Hoyas were picked to finish seventh in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 48 points.

The event was attended by Head Coach
Darnell Haney as well as student-athletes Rivera,
Brianna Scott and
Khadee Hession. Players and coaches met with national media outlets to talk about the upcoming 2025-26 season. Promotional material was filmed during the event to be used on major network broadcasts as well as for streaming platforms including ESPN+.

Preseason All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention
- Rivera is the leading returner for the Hoyas this season after sitting at third on last year's squad averaging 10.5 ppg to go along with 3.2 rpg.
- In her 30 games played with 27 starts, the shooting guard knocked down 62 3-pointers to lead the squad and rank third in the league.
- She was third on the squad in both assists (50) and steals (30), while also scoring in double figures on 15 occasions.
- Rivera ranks 11th on GU's career list for 3-pointers (117), and her 62 3-pointers a season ago put her at 13th in the season record books.
- This is her first-career BIG EAST honor.
BIG EAST Coaches' Poll - 7th
- Georgetown was picked to finish seventh with 48 points in the preseason coaches' poll as voted on by the league's head coaches.
- UConn collected 100 points and 10 first-place votes to sit on top. Marquette finished second with 85 points, while Seton Hall was slotted third with 80 points and the remaining first-place vote.
- Villanova sat in fourth with 78 points, and Creighton was in the fifth spot with 61 points in the poll.
- St. John's was picked sixth (56 points) followed by the Hoyas in seventh (48 points) and DePaul in eighth (32 points).
- Butler was selected at ninth with 30 points just ahead of Providence at 20 points, while Xavier rounded out the poll in 11th with 15 points.
