WASHINGTON – After Georgetown's men's and women's swimming & diving teams took on Villanova at McCarthy Pool on Saturday, October 25, Owen Watkins and Heidi Wu were named BIG EAST Athletes of the Week for their performances, as announced by the League on Wednesday. The men's team downed Villanova 199.5-100.5 while the women's team fell 172-128 to the Wildcats.

• In the 50 free, Watkins broke his own record while setting a new program record with a time of 19.70.
• In the 100 fly, Watkins placed first with a time of 49.35.
• He helped the GU 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams capture first place finishes against the Wildcats.

Heidi Wu | Fr. | New York, N.Y. - BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week

• In the 200 backstroke, Wu placed first and broke a pool record with a time of 1:58.10.
• Wu finished first in the 100 back (56.05) and the 200 back (1:58.10)
• She helped the 200 medley relay team capture first with a time of 1:42.66
