WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team fell to the Xavier Musketeers, 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 19-25, 27-25, 15-8), on Friday night at McDonough Arena. With the loss, GU slides to 9-7 and 2-1 in BIG EAST play on the season while the Musketeers improve to 13-2 and 2-1 in conference play.

Hoya Highlights

• Samantha Soderlund led the Hoya offense with a team-best 16 kills with a .351 hitting percentage, while Dionna Mitchell added 13. Maria Filippova followed with 10 of her own with a .368 hitting percentage.
• Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Juleigh Urbina led behind the service line, tallying a squad-best three aces each.
• On defense, Berkeley Ploder led the team with four blocks, while Lee-Caracci and Soderlund chipped in three of her own.
• Urbina paced the offense with a team-high 26 assists, with Natalie Nguyen close behind at 25.
• Urbina tallied a team-best 10 digs while Jade Smith had nine for the Hoya defense.
