WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team defeated the Butler Bulldogs, 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 25-17), on Saturday night at McDonough Arena. With the win, GU improves to 10-7 and 3-1 in BIG EAST play on the season while the Bulldogs slide to 7-10 and 0-4 in conference play.
Hoya Highlights
- Samantha Soderlund led the Hoya offense with a team-best 21 kills with a .459 hitting percentage, while Kamryn Lee-Caracci added 10. Dionna Mitchell followed with six of her own with a .375 hitting percentage.
- Juleigh Urbina led behind the service line, tallying a squad-best and collegiate-high eight aces.
- On defense, Lee-Caracci and Soderlund chipped in three blocks each to lead the team.
- Urbina paced the offense with a team-high 18 assists, with Natalie Nguyen close behind at 15.
- Mitchell and Taylor Mercado tallied a team-best seven digs each for the Hoya defense.
