Nine Georgetown Runners Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

WASHINGTON – After competing at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania this past Friday, nine members of the men's and women's cross country programs have earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors on Monday. Any student-athlete who finished in the top 25 at their regional meet earned the distinction.
 
The Georgetown men and women will compete at the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday. Both programs placed second in their races at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, automatically qualifying them for the national championships.
 
Women's Cross Country All-Region:
 
Charlotte Bell - Sophomore
  • Bell finished 20th overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 20:04.0.
  • Bell was one of five Hoyas to place in the top 10 at the BIG EAST Championship, earning All-BIG EAST first team honors 
Barrett Justema - Junior
  • Justema finished 13th overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 19:53.5.
  • Jestema received All-BIG EAST first team honors after placing third at the BIG EAST Championship.
Charlotte Tomkinson - Graduate Student
  • Tomkinson finished 10th overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 19:48.5.
  • Tomkinson placed seventh at the BIG EAST Championship, earning All-BIG EAST first team recognition.
Melissa Riggins - Graduate Student
  • Riggins was the top scorer for Georgetown at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, placing third overall with a time of 19:31.7.
  • At the BIG EAST Championship, Riggins claimed the individual title in the women's 6K race, leading the Georgetown women to their sixth-straight BIG EAST title.
  • She won BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Oct. 7 after winning the Women's Gold 6K at the Paul Short Run on Oct. 3.
Almi Nerurkar - Graduate Student
  • Nerurkar finished 16th overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 19:59.9.
  • Nerurkar placed fourth overall at the BIG EAST Championship, earning All-BIG EAST first team honors.

Men's Cross Country All-Region:
 
Birhanu Harriman - Junior
  • Harriman was the Mid-Atlantic Regional Champion in the men's 10K race, recording a time of 29:20.6. The win marked the first victory of his collegiate career.
  • Harriman placed in the top three at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 23:15.6. He earned All-BIG EAST first team honors after the performance.
  • He was awarded BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Oct. 7 following a second-place finish in the Gold 8K at the Paul Short Run.
Luke Johnson - Graduate Student
  • Johnson finished 11th overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 29:53.8.
  • Jonson received All-BIG EAST first team recognition after finishing eighth at the BIG EAST Championship.
MacCallum Rowe - Graduate Student
  • Rowe finished ninth overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 29:43.9.
  • Rowe got All-BIG EAST first team honors after finishing seventh at the BIG EAST Championship with a time of 23:34.2.
Quinn Parrish - Sophomore
  • Parrish finished 14th overall at the Mid-Atlantic Regional with a time of 30:14.2
  • Parrish rounded out the quartet of Hoyas that placed in the top 10 at the BIG EAST Championship. He finished 10th in the 8K Championship race and earned All-BIG EAST first team honors for his performance.
