Hoyas Host Delaware State in First Game of Saturday Doubleheader

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the Delaware State University Hornets on Saturday afternoon at McDonough Arena in the first game of a doubleheader with the men's basketball squad. The opening tip is scheduled for noon, and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Christian Taylor and Benjamin Curtis on the call.

  • New this season, the BIG EAST Conference has partnered with ESPN to broadcast more than 75 women's basketball games on ESPN+.
  • All home Georgetown women's basketball contests that are not broadcast on linear television will be available on ESPN+.

  • Georgetown (6-3) is coming off of a 58-56 road victory over Wake Forest University on Sunday in North Carolina.
  • The Hoyas trailed by as much as 10, but battled back and set up for a game winning 3-pointer in the corner from sophomore Summer Davis.
  • Sophomore Destiny Agubata had a career night with 18 points, including a 4-4 performance from beyond the arc, to go along with a squad-best seven rebounds, two steals and an assist.
  • Graduate student Brianna Scott also scored in double figures with 13 points as well as six rebounds and three assists to her credit.
  • The Blue & Gray shot 35.5% (22-62) from the field, but allowed 42.9% (21-49) shooting by Wake Forest.

About the Hornets
  • Delaware State (3-8) is coming off of a tough 91-21 loss at No. 7 Maryland on Wednesday evening in College Park, Maryland.
  • The Hornets' last win was an 83-38 victory over St. Mary's College on November 22.
  • The other victories came over Bloomfield College (74-58) and Felician University (66-55).
  • Mahogany Cottingham leads the team as the lone Hornet averaging in double figures with 10.9 ppg.
  • Head Coach Jazmone Turner is in her second season at Delaware State.
