WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's soccer junior
Eric Howard was named a Scholar All-Region honoree by the United Soccer Coaches on Wednesday afternoon when the organization announced its individual academic awards. To be eligible for Scholar All-Region recognition, student-athletes must have a 3.40 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout their career, started more than 75 percent of all games, significantly contribute to their team and be a junior or above in academic standing.

- Howard was both a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-East Region and First Team All-BIG EAST honoree.
- He started all 20 games he appeared in and had three assists on the season.
- On defense, the Redmond, Washington native was part of a backline that posted 11 shutouts for the year.
- He was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team following Georgetown's victory.
- Last year, Howard was drafted by the New England Revolution with the fifth pick in the second round and 35th overall in the MLS Draft.
- Howard is a finance major in the McDonough School of Business.
