SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Georgetown University women's basketball team fell to the Seton Hall University Pirates 81-36 in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 8-5 overall and 1-3 in BIG EAST play, while the Pirates improve to 10-4 on the year and 4-1 in league action.
How it Happened
- Georgetown struck first, but the Pirates answered with a 13-1 run to force a Hoya timeout midway through the stanza.
- The teams traded triples out of the break, but the Blue & Gray would not find the early comeback as the Hoyas trailed 28-8 after the first quarter.
- The second quarter was much of the same as turnovers plagued the Blue & Gray.
- Georgetown cut it to 19 at the five-minute mark, but The Hall rattled off eight straight to end the half as GU trailed 40-13.
- The shooting woes continued in the second half while turnovers and fouls allowed Seton Hall to build an insurmountable lead.
- After three quarters, Georgetown trailed 63-24.
- The Blue & Gray never found its way back into the game resulting in the 81-36 final.

- Junior Cristen Carter led the way in both points and rebounds with six and seven to her credit.
- The Blue & Gray shot just 23.6% (13-55) from the field, and allowed 50.0% (27-54) shooting by Seton Hall.
- GU was outrebounded by SHU 40-34, and Georgetown forced 17 Pirate turnovers on seven steals.
- Savannah Catalon led Seton Hall with 14 points as one of four players in double figures.
