Georgetown to Face No. 24/25 Creighton on FS1

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday to face the No. 24/25 Creighton University Bluejays in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at D.J. Sokol Arena on FS1. The opening tip is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (11-13, 4-9 BIG EAST) lost a close one 76-70 to the Butler University Bulldogs on Wednesday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at McDonough Arena.
  • Graduate student Kelsey Ransom led the way with 19 points and four boards as well as four assists and three steals.
  • Senior Ariel Jenkins managed her ninth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while junior Victoria Rivera rounded out those in double figures with 14 points in the contest.
  • The Blue & Gray shot 45.0% (27-60) from the field, but allowed the Bulldogs 57.4% (27-47) shooting in the contest.
  • Georgetown outrebounded Butler, 35-24, and forced 16 BU turnovers on nine steals.
  • On Monday, Ransom was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Hoyas went 1-1 in BIG EAST play.
  • Ransom averaged 17.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in a two-game week for Georgetown. She also had 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals for the week.

About the Bluejays
  • Creighton is 20-4 overall and 12-1 in BIG EAST play. The Bluejays are coming off of a 70-57 road win over Villanova on Saturday in Pennsylvania. CU has won its last four and 11 of its last 12 contests.
  • Seniors Morgan Maly and Lauren Jensen combined for 48 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in the victory.
  • For her efforts, Maly was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week averaging 19.5 ppg, 10.0 rpg and 2.5 apg, notching her second and third double-doubles of the season.
  • Jense is leading the Bluejays in scoring, averaging 18.0 ppg. Maly is right behind with 17.5 ppg on the year.

  • This will be the 25th meeting between the two BIG EAST teams dating back to the 2013-14 season; the Hoyas are 5-19 against Creighton.
