Georgetown Downs Mason 15-14

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the George Mason Patriots 15-14 on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, GU improves to 2-2 on the year while Mason slides to 1-3.

ON THE RECORD
"What a day, really proud of our guys to stay the course with some difficult conditions and we found a way to win. That is what good teams do, they find a way to win, and we were able to do that today. Offensively we came out of the gates and scored 12 runs in the first three innings but then got a little too comfortable. Jeremy Sheffield and Tristan Head were fantastic today combining for nine RBIs and I am really proud of those guys. Proud of Jack Volo to give us a little bit of a stop when we needed it and then at the end, Ethan Rucker making his collegiate debut and getting his first strikeout and save with the bases loaded with the game on the line was great. That's what he is here for, and we are proud of him and looking forward to our home opening series this weekend." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
