WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team defeated the Sacred Heart Pioneers 13-1 on Friday afternoon. With the win, Georgetown improves to 3-2 on the season while SHU slides to 0-4.
ON THE RECORD
"What a home opener for the Hoyas.
JT Raab set the tone from start to finish going a strong six innings before
Kai Leckszas took over and sealed this one up for us. Sacred Heart is a very good offensive team, and they have a lot of guys back, so really proud of our group and the way we played today. It was great to see our offense continue to put pressure on the defense on the base path. The biggest play of the day was when
Dylan Larkins had a big two out hit and then two innings later
Jeremy Sheffield had a big two out, two strike hit and it really gave us the cushion we needed. We were able to stay consistent and our defense was great in another game where we had to battle tough conditions. Proud of our group and looking forward to getting back out here tomorrow for game two." -Head Coach
