WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (1-2) fell 9-7 on the road to No. 9 Maryland (1-1) on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maryland got the scoring started less than a minute into the first quarter. Gracie Driggs responded to tie the contest 1-1 at the 10:50 mark. At the 7:49 mark, Shelby Sullivan put the Terps back up 2-1 to end the first quarter.
- Maisy Clevenger broke a 10-minute scoring drought at the 12:32 mark of the second quarter to put Maryland up 3-1. Two minutes later Kori Edmondson scored a free-position goal to extend UMD's lead 4-1. The Hoyas responded with two-consecutive goals to make it a one-goal game 4-3. The Terps closed out the first half with three-straight goals to lead 7-3 at halftime.
- After a scoreless opening 10 minutes in the third quarter, Maryland's Lauren LaPointe scored to put the Terps up 8-3. Anne McGovern responded for the Hoyas with her first goal of the evening at the 2:32 mark.
- The Hoyas kept their scoring run going into the fourth quarter with three-straight goals to come within one of the Terps 8-7. After a final goal for UMD at the 4:49 mark, the Terps earned a 9-7 victory over GU.
