Georgetown Tied for Sixth at Daniel Island Invitational

WASHINGTON – Following two rounds of action at the Daniel Island Invitational the Georgetown University women's golf team is currently tied for sixth place in the field of 14 that includes five teams ranked among the top 50. The two-day tournament hosted by the College of Charleston, is being held on the par-72, 6,166-yard course at Daniel Island Golf Club with the final 18 holes scheduled for Tuesday, February 25. The Blue & Gray owns a 36-hole score of 15-over 591 (295-296).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Georgia Ruffolo is the top Hoya through 36 holes at 2-under 142 (71-71) to sit in a tie for ninth place. She played consistent golf throughout both rounds, tallying five birdies (2-R1; 3-R2) and 28 pars (15-R1; 13-R2) on the day.
  • Gabriella Eifrig is currently tied for 24th place at 2-over 146 (71-75) following two rounds of play. Eifrig managed six birdies, all in the first round, to go with 21 pars (8-R1; 13-R2) over 36 holes.
  • Currently in a tie for 39th place, Megan Gormley is three strokes back from Eifrig at 5-over 149 (74-75). Over two rounds, the graduate student tallied five birdies (2-R1; 3-R2) to go along with 22 pars (12-R1; 10-R2).
  • Catherine Qiu is the fourth Hoya on the leaderboard as she is tie for 62nd place carding a 15-over 159 (84-75). Her lone birdie was in the second round while she tallied 24 pars (11-R1; 13-R2) over a pair of rounds.
  • Charlotte Hillary carded an 18-over 162 (79-83) over the first two rounds to sit in a tie for 71st place. She has a trio of birdies (1-R1; 2-R2) while also registering 21 pars (13-R1; 8-R2) across 36 holes.
