WASHINGTON – Following the final 18 holes of action, the Georgetown University women's golf team finished 10th overall at the Daniel Island Invitational on Tuesday. Through 54 holes, the Hoyas carded a 31-over 895 (295-296-304) on the par-72, 6,166-yard course at Daniel Island Golf Club. College of Charleston hosted a 14-team field in South Carolina over two days, including a quintet of teams ranked among the top 50, with No. 45 NC State taking the top spot at 17-under 847 (280-282-285).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Georgia Ruffolo took the top spot for the Hoyas following three rounds at 3-over 219 (71-71-77) to tie for 23rd overall. With another 14 pars in the final round, the co-captain closes the tournament with five birdies (2/3/0) and 42 pars (15/13/14).
- Gabriella Eifirg placed 35th with a three-round score of 6-over 222 (71-75-76). She added a pair of birdies and 11 pars in the final round for a tournament total of eight birdies (6/0/2) and 32 pars (8/13/11).
- Megan Gormley turned in the lowest card in the third round for the Hoyas as she finished 54 holes at 8-over 224 (74-75-75), enough to tie for 38th place. She added a trio of birdies and 11 pars on the last day for a tournament total of eight birdies (2/3/3) and 33 pars (12/10/11).
- Charlotte HIllary finished the tournament in a tie for 65th place at 22-over 238 (79-83-76). Her final round saw a pair of birdies and 11 pars for a 54-hole total of six birdies (1/2/3) and 32 pars (13/8/11).
- At 24-over 240 (84-75-81), Catherine Qiu placed 70th in the field. She added one birdie and eight pars on the final day, for a three-round total of two birdies (0/1/1) and 32 pars (11/13/8).
