Gormley Leads the Hoyas at Therese Hession Regional Challenge Following Two Rounds

WASHINGTON – Following the second day of action at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, graduate student Megan Gormley is the Hoya leader among the 16-team field competing on the par-71, 6,017-yard course at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. Ohio State is the host institution in Palos Verdes Estates, California as the Blue & Gray is currently in 16th place at 53-over 621..

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gormley is the top Hoya in the field after a 7-over 78 today for a two-round score of 11-over 153 (75-78), good enough to be tied for 66th. The co-captain managed a pair of birdies and nine pars on the day. 
  • Georgia Ruffolo carded the best round of the day for the Blue & Gray at 6-over 77.  Her 12-over 154 (77-77) puts her in a tie 72nd overall following a pair of birdies and eight pars.
  • Freshman Catherine Qiu is the top Hoya newcomer on the leaderboard at 14-over 156 (73-83). Currently in 79th place, she tallied one birdie and a squad-best 10 pars on the day.
  • Fellow freshman Gabriella Eifrig is in tie for 83rd place at 16-over 158 (80-78). The newcomer tallied a pair of birdies and eight pars on the day.
  • Charlotte Hillary rounds out the Hoyas at 31-over 173 (89-84) for 88th place. She recorded one birdie and six pars in the second round.
