Gormley, Ruffolo and Eifrig Move Up on Final Day at Therese Hession Regional Challenge

WASHINGTON – The trio of Megan Gormley, Georgia Ruffolo and Gabriella Eifrig all moved up on the final day of competition at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. The 16-team field, featuring 14 teams ranked among the top 50 in the most recent Clippd rankings, competed on the par-71, 6,017-yard course at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. Ohio State played host to the field on the West Coast as the Blue & Gray finished 16th with a three-round total of 75-over 927 (305-316-306).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gormley finished the three-round tournament as the top Hoya in the field, carding a 13-over 226 (75-78-73) to sit in a tie for 64th place. The co-captain carded a 2-over 73, her best round of the tournament, on the final day after recording a pair of birdies and 12 pars. She totaled eight birdies for the tournament to go along with 28 pars.
  • Ruffolo finished the three-day tournament at 14-over 227 (77-77-73) to tie for 68th. Her 2-over 73 in the final round of action was fueled by one birdie and a team-best 14 pars. For the tournament, she managed five birdies and 30 pars.
  • Gabriella Eifrig finished 80th at 21-over 234 (80-78-76). Her 5-over 76 was aided by one birdie and 12 pars for a three-round total of four birdies and 29 pars.
  • Freshman Catherine Qiu finished with a three-round score of 30-over 243 (73-83-87). Her final round saw a pair of birdies and six pars as the freshman totaled seven birdies and 24 pars.
  • Charlotte Hillary finished at 44-over 257 (89-84-84) to finish 88th overall. Her final round was fueled by a pair of birdies and seven pars. For the tournament, she totaled three birdies and 21 pars.

UP NEXT
The Hoyas will return to action at the end of the month when they head to the Daniel Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston. The two-day tournament will be held on February 24-25 at the Daniel Island Golf Club in South Carolina.
