WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped Friday evening's contest to Monmouth 10-8. With the setback, GU slides to 7-11 on the season while Monmouth improves to 7-10.
ON THE RECORD
"On behalf of myself and the Georgetown Baseball program prayers to Trey Porter. He was competing today and it was unfortunate to see him go down with an injury. We are praying for him and hoping for a speedy recovery.
I think their pitcher was effective today and they made the plays when it mattered the most. We had some opportunities, and I loved our fight at the end to give us a chance there in the eighth, we just couldn't get the big hit. Long day ahead tomorrow and we are excited to come back out here tomorrow for games two and three of the series." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
