WASHINGTON – In a tie for the second-best card of the final round,
Georgia Ruffolo moved up one spot to tie for third at the City of Oaks Collegiate following the final 18 holes of play on Saturday. Ruffolo helped the Hoyas to finish eighth overall at 76-over 939 (316-298-325) after three rounds of play on the par-72, 6,143-yard course at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club. East Carolina took the team win at 22-over 866 (291-295-299) in Raleigh, North Carolina while host institution No. 41 NC State finished third.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a 1-over 73 in the final 18 holes, Georgia Ruffolo tied for third at 3-over 219 (76-70-73) following three rounds of action to be the top Hoya finisher. She added a trio of birdies and 11 pars for 12 (4/5/3) birdies and 29 pars (8/10/11) over the tournament.
- Megan Gormley was the second Hoya, tied at 38th with a three-round score of 22-over 238 (80-75-83). For the tournament, she managed a trio of birdies (1/2/0) and 29 pars (9/12/8).
- Catherine Qiu was the third Hoya on the leaderboard, tying for 57th at 26-over 242 (84-75-83). Adding a birdie and nine pars in the third round, she closed the tournament with four birdies (1/2/1) and 26 pars (6/11/9).
- Gabriella Eifrig finished 65th overall at 28-over 244 (80-78-86) following three rounds of action. She recorded a duo of birdies and six pars in the final round for a tournament total of six birdies (0/4/2) and 22 pars (10/6/6).
- Competing as an individual, Tina Tang finished in a tie for 66th place at 29-over 245 (80-79-86). With eight pars on the day, she closes the two-day tournament with two birdies (0/2/0) and 29 pars (12/9/8).
- Rounding out the Hoyas at 30-over 246 (80-79-87) is Charlotte Hillary, in a tie for 68th place. With six pars in the final round, she finishes the tournament with a trio of birdies (2/1/0) and 23 pars (8/9/6).
