Kelsey Ransom was named the BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award winner as well as being selected First Team All-BIG EAST for the second-consecutive season. Additionally, senior
Ariel Jenkins was named Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST. Freshman
Khadee Hession rounded out the Hoya honorees being named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.
The Hoyas have secured the No. 10 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament presented by JEEP and will face seventh-seeded Providence this Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Kelsey Ransom
Co-BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award
First Team All-BIG EAST
- Ransom led the league in scoring averaging 19.8 ppg, and also ranked second in the league in rebounding with 6.0 rpg.
- She also managed 3.6 assists to sit at seventh in the BIG EAST, and was third in the conference with 2.1 steals per game.
- Among active players, Ransom is seventh in points with 14.11 and sixth in rebounds averaging 5.40 in her career. Her 3.80 assists and 2.31 steals per game place her at third in both career categories.
- The team captain has earned BIG EAST Player of the Week, BIG EAST Freshman of the Week and 15 BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll nods in her career.
- Ransom is the only player in GU history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.
- On the career lists, she is third all-time in scoring with 1,961 points and is the all-time leader in assists (528) and games played (139).
- Ransom is also third on GU's career steals list with 321, and eighth in rebounds tallying 750.
- She currently holds the Georgetown record for steals in a game with 10 on December 21, 2022.
- The guard is among the nation's leaders in minutes played, and has 10 career double-doubles.
- Off of the court, she is a founding member of Hoyos, a women's affinity group on campus, a member of SAAC and Georgetown's Black Student-Athlete Alliance.
- She graduated with a degree in psychology and is in GU's higher education administration graduate program.
- The Hoyas have now won the past three BIG EAST Sportsmanship Awards after Graceann Bennett won it the past two seasons.
- The last Hoya to receive consecutive nods to the first team was Dionna White at the conclusion of the 2018-19 campaign.
- Ransom has previously earned postseason honors being named First Team All-BIG EAST a season ago, Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST in 2022-23 and earning a spot on the All-Freshman Team as a rookie.
Ariel Jenkins
Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST
- Jenkins leads the league on the glass with 10.1 rpg. She also boasts 4.4 offensive boards per game which ranks her first in the BIG EAST, and seven in the nation.
- The center is Georgetown's second-leading scorer averaging 11.4 ppg.
- Her 10 double-doubles this season rank her first in the league.
- Jenkins was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on January 6, after she pulled down a career-high 16 rebound against Seton Hall.
- This season, she has appeared in 28 games with 25 starts to her credit.
- In her career, she has tallied 81 blocks to rank 12th in Hoya history.
- This is her first postseason honor. The last Hoya to earn honorable mention was Ransom in 2022-23.
Khadee Hession
BIG EAST All-Freshman Team
- Hession started in all 27 games she appeared in this season and finished the regular season fourth in scoring for the Blue & Gray with 8.0 ppg.
- She is third on the squad on the boards with 3.8 rpg and also has 52 assists on the year ranking her second on the team.
- Hession has scored in double figures eight times this season, including a career-high 22 points against UConn.
- She managed a double-double to start the season with 11 points and 10 boards in a win over Virginia-Lynchburg.
- Hession is 11th in the league in steals with 1.7 spg for the season.
- The last Hoya to be named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team was Kennedy Fauntleroy in 2022-23.
