STORRS, Conn. – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped both games of its doubleheader with UConn on Friday 4-2 and 10-3. With the losses, GU slides to 12-22 overall and 1-4 in conference action while the Huskies improve to 16-17 and 4-4 in league action.
ON THE RECORD
"I am really proud of how
JT Raab gave us an unbelievable start in game one, going six innings before leaving with the lead again. We had another lead going into the back part of the game and unfortunately, you know, they came back and did what they needed to do to scratch a couple runs across. Credit to them, we had some situations early with bases loaded in the third inning, I think we just couldn't get going with one out. Their guy did a good job settling in and their left hander did a good job as well.
I thought in game two, again, we had a lead early. Then they had a big inning with five runs. You know, I think they just executed better. They showed why they've been to six regionals in a row. They do a good job of executing and we didn't execute at the level we needed to in order to be competitive in the second game." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
