Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women's lacrosse team (8-6, 3-1 BE) defeated Butler (0-11, 0-4 BE) 17-6 on Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs tallied the first goal of the contest at the 13:25 mark. The Hoyas responded with a seven-goal run to lead 7-1 at the end of the first quarter.
- Annika Bennett scored at the 10:58 mark for Butler. The Hoyas responded by adding three more goals, led by Gracie Driggs with two. The Bulldogs found the back of the net twice to close out the second quarter. At halftime, GU led 10-4.
- The Hoyas held the Bulldogs scoreless in the third while scoring three goals of their own to lead 13-4 at the end of the quarter.
- The Bulldogs found the back of the net twice in the fourth quarter but the Hoyas would sustain an 11-goal lead to earn a 17-6 victory.

The Hoyas will remain on the Hilltop to face BIG EAST foe Marquette on Senior Day on Saturday, April 19. Opening draw is scheduled for noon on Cooper Field.
