WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to Oregon 12-1 in seven innings. With the loss, GU slides to 12-24 overall while the Ducks improve to 25-10.
ON THE RECORD
"Oregon came in today and showed why they are the number 16 team in the country. Their pitcher was outstanding today and kept us off balance. We didn't put much pressure on him. Other than that one time we had
Owen Carapellotti hit a great home run, but we never could get anything going. He didn't give us anything for free. They played good defense. Had two double plays early, which kind of made it tough. I thought
Johan Franco did a good job. For the first two innings, he was outstanding. I thought our pitching staff did a good job. Except for those two innings, we just gave them some free bases, and they hit a couple home runs. Unfortunately, against a good team, they'll make you pay. Today was a great opportunity for our program and we had an unbelievable crowd. We appreciate all the fans that came out to watch us and supported us. We hope more fans will come out this weekend and catch some games as we get ready for Butler on Thursday." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
