WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped game two of the series with Butler 15-11 on Friday evening. With the loss, GU slides to 13-25 and 2-6 in conference action while Butler improves to 13-25 and 2-6 in BIG EAST action.
ON THE RECORD
"A tough day for the Hoyas. Give Butler a lot of credit for their fight. I mean, they were down, and we were up by a lot. We couldn't hold a lead, couldn't extend on our lead. We had some opportunities to extend that lead in the middle part of that game, and only got one run across in back-to-back innings. We could have had a couple more. Could have separated us a little bit, but ultimately, we didn't play well enough to win, and they did. I thought
Jaden Sheffield had a good day for us offensively, giving us a couple RBIs, and a couple big doubles there to give us some momentum, but we just couldn't take advantage of anything else the rest of the day. We have a chance to win a series tomorrow. That's what we're looking forward to." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
