Owen Carapellotti belted his 49th career home run as a Hoya in the third inning breaking the program record for career home runs of 48. With the loss, GU slides to 13-26 overall and 2-7 in BIG EAST play while Butler improves to 14-25 overall and 3-6 in conference action.
ON THE RECORD
"One of those days where, you know, I thought we did a really good job offensively. We put ourselves in position to win the game. Unfortunately, we came up a little bit short today. Credit to Butler, they found a way to get it done, and we didn't. I really wanted to highlight
Owen Carapellotti. Two home runs, four RBIs and breaking the all-time school record. It says a lot about him and his consistency, just his ability to be present and he is a fantastic leader for our organization. To pass,
Jake Hyde, another Georgetown legend was awesome to see, and we are just really proud of him. I know that it didn't go as we hoped as far as the end result to win a series, but I'm really proud of him." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
