Hoyas Earn All-MAISA Honors

WASHINGTON - Three members of the Georgetown University sailing team earned major postseason honors from the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) over the past few weeks. Additionally, the Hoyas won the America Trophy which is MAISA's Conference Championship.
 
The Hoyas are now preparing for the Women's and Open Team Race National Championship (April 24-26 & 27-28) at Brown, before St. Mary's College of Maryland welcomes teams for Women's Fleet Race and Open Fleet Race National Championships (May 20-23 & 27-30).

  • Saturday saw winds of 1-4 knots throughout the day and thus only one race was completed in each division.
  • Conditions improved on Sunday with a steady 10-17 knots from the NNW. Following an early report time of 08:30, 11 races were completed for both divisions.
  • Georgetown finished in first with 38 points in A and 56 in B for a total of 94 on the weekend.
