CINCINNATI – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped game three of its series with Xavier 9-2 on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, GU slips to 13-30 overall and 2-10 in BIG EAST play while the Musketeers improve to 27-19 and 11-4 in conference action.
ON THE RECORD
"I liked how we came out of the gates today, going up 1-0 early. Unfortunately, we just couldn't sustain that. Their guy did a good job settling in as the game went on and he didn't give us much. I thought our bullpen did a good job today, and after that one inning, I thought they settled in.
Derek Yoo,
Marshall Whitmer and
Kai Leckszas gave us a chance there. We just couldn't get things together offensively until late. We had a little rally, but just a little too late. We know we have a chance on Tuesday to win a series against Maryland and that's our next focus and our next opportunity. We'll get ready for that, and we look forward to the opportunity to win the season series at home." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
