WASHINGTON –The Georgetown University men's golf team wrapped up competition at the BIG EAST Championships hosted at Callawassie Island in Okatie, South Carolina, finishing seventh out of ten teams with a three-round total of 876 (290-291-295).
Barnes Blake's runner-up finish marks the best individual placement by a Hoya since Pieter DeGroot finished third at the 2023 BIG EAST Championships with a three-round score of 214 (-2). The sophomore's consistent play across all three rounds was a key highlight for the Blue & Gray as he wrapped up his strong sophomore campaign.
"I putted really well this week and hit the ball pretty solid. The course had a lot of very demanding tee shots and I felt like I did a good job of keeping it in play off the tee. Although it stings to come up short of winning, I felt it was still a nice way to finish my sophomore season and I'm really excited for the next two years!" - Barnes Blake
