VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the Villanova Wildcats in game two of the series, 9-2 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Georgetown slides to (11-19, 1-1 BE) on the season while Villanova improves to (16-13, 1-1 BE).
ON THE RECORD
"I thought their pitcher, Jake Francis, was outstanding tonight. He did a great job. Villanova came back like we knew they would, and battled and obviously evened the series. But you know, I thought Derek Yoo was a great, bright spot for us. Unfortunately, we didn't support him offensively enough with enough run support to have that game end up like it did. We have to show up offensively and defensively tomorrow for us to win. But the good news is that we have a chance to win the series on the road, which is hard to do. So I'm looking forward to that opportunity tomorrow. Andrew Williams is on the mound tomorrow and I'm looking forward to that. But you know, we ultimately got to tip our cap to Villanova for doing a great job today and getting the win." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
