VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped the final matchup of the series to the Villanova Wildcats, 5-2 on Sunday afternoon to go 1-2 on the weekend. With the loss, Georgetown slides to 11-20, 1-2 BE on the season while Villanova improves to 17-13, 2-1 BE.
ON THE RECORD
"I thought Villanova did a great job all weekend. They played very good baseball. They played clean baseball, and they were the more competitive team today. I thought our guys did a good job of getting their starter out early, but unfortunately, we just couldn't capitalize on it throughout the game. We had too many quick outs and quick innings, and we just could never get a rhythm offensively. We only get three hits and that's not enough to beat anybody. They're a really good team, so tip our caps to them. We'll just have to keep working." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
