ON THE RECORD
"What a great win today for our program, obviously to beat a well-coached team and a program like Maryland is great for our guys. I am really proud of how we responded after the weekend. I thought
Nadell Booker gave us a great start today and from there the bullpen was fantastic and did their job incredibly well today.
Griffin O'Connor,
Jack Volo,
Axel Johnson,
Marshall Whitmer and
Matthew Sapienza were great. We were in a tough spot with the tying run at the plate and we got out of that to get the big win. Offensively,
Jeremy Sheffield was fantastic with that big grand slam and
Jackson Thomas had a great day with three hits. Ashtin GIlio did a great job getting some bunts down and it was just a great day for our offense. We were able to play our style and put some pressure on the defense. Overall, it was a great team win against a really good team and we are looking forward to another tough weekend ahead at UConn." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
