ON THE RECORD
"Today was one of those days that I'm just proud of our team. We came out and scored early. We knew that they'd come back. They're a good offense, and they did in the middle part of that game. Every time they scored, we answered and when we needed to get stops, we did. That was great to see on our end, and obviously in the seventh inning when we got the big three-run home run by Connor Price, that kind of put out any of the momentum that they had. I thought that Axel Johnson settled us down and Kai Leckszas in the back part of the game got us stops when we needed them the most. Those two guys put up zeros, and that's all we needed. I'm just truly proud of our guys, Kavi Caster with another leadoff home run and Connor Price like I said but also Blake Schaff with three hits, three RBIs, and then Ashton Seymore and Keith Savoy both had two RBIs. Really good day for the offense again. In the back end of the game they did what they needed to do to help us win a really big game in the battle of the District. We are looking forward to honoring our seniors this weekend against Creighton at home so come out and watch this weekend at Capital One Park." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson

The Hoyas took the lead back in the inning when Schaaf ripped an RBI single to right field, sending Gilio back to home plate. The Revolutionaries proceeded to walk in two runs in the inning making it 4-1 in favor of the home team.
  • Schaaf picked up the scoring again in the bottom of the second inning when he laced a single to center field, sending Ilitch home from second, the only run scored in the second frame. The Revolutionaries chipped away at the Hoya lead in the top of the third inning off a single RBI and a fielder's choice, making it 5-3.
  • Jeremy Sheffield notched his second triple of the season at the start of the bottom of the third inning. Savoy proceeded to crank a double off the wall to get Jeremy Sheffield home from third for the sixth run of the Monday matchup. The Revolutionaries added four runs to the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning courtesy of a pair of RBI doubles to tie the contest up at 6-6.
  • The Hoyas took the lead back in the bottom of the fourth on an infield single from Schaaf to score Ilitch, followed by an RBI single from Jaden Sheffield to get Price back to home plate. The scoring barrage continued when Seymore sent a sac fly out to center to bring in Schaaf for the third run of the inning, making it 9-6.
  • Georgetown loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, but a double play from the visiting team held the Hoyas scoreless in the frame. The Revolutionaries wouldn't go away as a sac fly in the top of the sixth inning drove in their seventh run of the day. The visiting team proceeded to load the bases with one out. In the ensuing at bat, George Washington took back the lead with a grand slam. A double play from the Georgetown defense ended the top of the inning, with GW up, 11-9.
