WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to St. John's in Friday's contest 16-5. With the setback, GU slides to 14-32 overall and 2-11 in conference play while the Johnnies improve to 22-20 overall and 7-6 in the BIG EAST.
ON THE RECORD
"Very difficult to overcome a Friday night when you have four errors, and we didn't give ourselves a chance. I was really proud of our guys getting it within three there with
Connor Price's big home run there. I felt that gave us some life, but we just couldn't get enough going after that. I thought
Axel Johnson and
Jack Volo gave us the length that we needed to go six innings between the two of them to help us out after a tough day. Obviously, it wasn't enough today but we will regroup and get ready for a long day of baseball tomorrow but we're looking forward to the opportunity." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
