WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the BIG EAST Conference announced that Georgetown University's Abel Teffra was named BIG EAST Male Track Athlete of the Week and Rebecca Ochan was named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week.
Head Coach Alton McKenzie
"Rebecca and Abel are very deserving of their Track Athlete of the Week recognitions by the Big East Conference. Rebecca had a huge PB in the 400m and has certainly put herself in the conversation to compete against the best 400 runners in the country. Abel has already established himself as one of the best mid distance runners in the country with his time of 3:33.84 in the 1500m (6th fastest in NCAA history) and has continued to excel throughout the Outdoor Season. We're looking forward to seeing what both will be able to accomplish during the postseason."

- The award comes after Teffra delivered a standout performance in the men's 1500 at the Duke Twilight meet, finishing second with an impressive time of 3:33.84.
