Three Hoyas Named All-American Following ICSA National Championships

WASHINGTON - Following the 2025 ICSA National Championships, the Georgetown University sailing team had a trio of student-athletes named All-Americans.
 
About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown's top performance was a sixth-place finish in men's singlehanded racing out of 18 competitors. The Hoyas also had a 12th-place finish in the championship.
  • On the women's side, GU finished eighth in women's singlehanded.
  • The Hoya women had a strong showing in both fleet and team racing with a seventh-place performance in fleet, and an eighth-place finish in team racing.
  • The coed squad closed out the championships finishing in 11th in the team racing and 13th in fleet racing.
All-Americans
  • Senior Piper Holthus earned her second-consecutive All-America nod earning a spot on the first team for women's skippers. Earlier in the season, Holthus was named the MAISA Women's Sailor of the Year and First Team All-Conference.
  • Freshman Scarlett Harris was also a First Team All-America selection for crews. It marks her first national honor after earning Second Team All-MAISA earlier in the 2024-25 campaign.
  • Freshman Emily Doble was selected to the 2025 Skipper Honorable Mention All-America Team. Earlier in the year, she was named First Team All-MAISA for skippers.
  • It marks the first time in more than a decade that the Hoyas have boasted a pair of freshmen on the All-America squad.
