WASHINGTON – Georgetown University football had one offensive player and two defensive athletes earn a spot on the Patriot League Preseason All-League Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday. Senior Jimmy Kibble was chosen as a wide receiver, junior Cooper Blomstrom was chosen as a defensive lineman and GianCarlo Rufo was selected as a linebacker. 

The Hoyas were also voted sixth in the 2025 Patriot League Preseason Poll ahead of Colgate in seventh and Fordham in eighth. Lehigh was voted first with 13 first-place votes, followed by Richmond in second with three first-place votes. Holy Cross was placed in third, while Bucknell came in fourth and Lafayette in fifth.

• Last season, appeared in 10 games for GU and recorded 46 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns.

• Accumulated a season high of 164 receiving yards against Columbia.
• Recorded his longest reception of the season against Brown for 60 yards.
• Named to 2024 Phil Steele Patriot League Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
• Named to the 2024 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

GianCarlo Rufo | LB | - Preseason All-Patriot League Team

• First Preseason All-Patriot League honor.
• Named to the All-Patriot League Second Team Defense.
• Started in all 11 games for GU and recorded 91 total tackles (48 solo, 43 assists), including seven TFLs and three sacks. He also tallied three passes defended and two forced fumbles. 
• Made season high of 16 tackles while also recording a forced fumble against Lehigh.
• Earned four Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mentions during the 2024 season. 
• Named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
• Named to the Patriot League Academic All-League Second Team Defense.
• Named to 2024 Phil Steele Patriot League Preseason All-Conference Second Team.

Cooper Blomstrom | DL | St. Paul's School - Preseason All-Patriot League Team

• First Preseason All-Patriot League honor.
• Named to the All-Patriot League Second Team Defense.
• Started in all 11 games for the Hoyas and recorded 56 total tackles (32 solo, 24 assists), including 12.5 TFLs and 7.5 sacks.
• He also tallied one interception, three passes defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. 
• Recorded a season high of 10 tackles against Davidson. 
• Named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week twice during the 2024 season. 
• Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
