WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team defeated the Coppin State Eagles, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-27, 25-21), on Wednesday night at the Reitz Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. With the win, GU improves to 2-5 on the season while the Eagles slide to 2-5.

"I think we came out with a lot of energy, which we talked about in the beginning, and I think we succeeded with that. What helped me with blocking today was the really good communication from the back row on and off the court. Our energy was there and we executed what we needed to. It was a really fun way to play and I hope we continue to play like that."

Hoya Highlights

• Dionna Mitchell led the Hoya attack with a team-high 15 kills, while Katherine McGregor added 12, with a team-best .375 hitting percentage, and Maria Filippova chipped in 10.
• Juleigh Urbina led with two service aces, while Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Mitchell added one each.
• Lee-Caracci and Berkeley Ploder each notched five blocks, which led the team.
• Urbina paced the Hoya offense with 30 assists, closely followed by Natalie Nguyen with 20.
• Mitchell recorded a team-high 13 digs for the GU defense.
