WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team is set to compete in the Battle of the Beltway this weekend from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14. The Hoyas will start the three-match weekend on the road in Baltimore, Maryland taking on Loyola University Maryland at 6 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's contest will also be on the road against Morgan State at 1 p.m. The weekend will conclude at home in McDonough Arena when GU takes on UMBC at 2 p.m.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown enters the third year under Head Coach AJ Bonetti. The Hoyas finished last season with a 4-14 mark in conference play and an overall record of 11-19.
- The Hoyas are averaging 11.8 kills per set with a .193 hitting percentage, while adding 12.8 digs and 2.0 blocks per set on defense.
- Dionna Mitchell and Samantha Soderlund lead the offense. Mitchell has been pacing the attack with 80 kills, a .196 hitting percentage, and 3.08 kills per set. Soderlund is close behind at 67 kills, a .158 hitting percentage and 2.58 kills per set. Maria Filippova ranks third on the squad with 48 kills, averaging 2.18 per set.
- Mitchell leads the squad with 16 service aces on the season. Juleigh Urbina has notched seven aces and Kamryn Lee-Caracci has six.
- At the net, Berkeley Ploder and Lee-Caracci lead the defense with 17 total blocks, followed by Katherine McGregor with 11.
- Graduate transfer Jade Smith has made a strong debut, posting 71 digs and averaging 2.84 per set in her first season with the Blue & Gray.
- The Hoyas welcomed five newcomers to the roster in 2025: Jessica Lee, Katherine McGregor, Sydney Mercado, Fiona Turnbull, and Samantha Soderlund.
