Hoyas Take on Broncs on Saturday Night

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's soccer team will close out its six-match homestand with a matchup against the Rider University Broncs on Saturday evening at Shaw Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

  • A second-half scoring barrage resulted in Georgetown's 4-0 victory over James Madison University on Tuesday evening at Shaw Field.
  • Junior Max Viera scored two goals in the contest, and senior Diego Letayf tallied a trio of assists.
  • The points by Viera and Letayf were their first of the 2025 campaign and it was Viera's first-career multi-goal game.
  • Letayf's three assists matched his career total to this point with three helpers during the 2023 season.
  • On Monday, senior Zach Zengue was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in a 2-2 tie against then-No. 14 Duke. Zengue managed a goal and an assist in the match.
  • Sophomore Mitchell Baker is leading the squad in scoring with three goals for six points on the season.
  • Zengue is second with a goal and three assists managing five points on the year.
  • Senior Tenzing Manske has played all 540 minutes in the goal and has a 1.00 goals-against average as well as two shutouts to his credit.
  • In GU's six-match home stretch, the Hoyas have faced three-consecutive top-15 opponents.
About the Broncs
  • Rider is 1-4-1 on the season and coming off of a 2-1 loss at Saint Joseph's on Tuesday evening.
  • The Broncs' lone win was a 3-0 victory over George Washington on September 1.
  • Rider was picked second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll and Theo Da Silva was named the MAAC Co-Preseason Player of the Year.
  • In addition, Max Schrader was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
