WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team defeated the UMBC Retrievers, 3-2 (23-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 19-17) on Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C. After dropping the opening two sets of the match, the Hoyas rallied and won three straight sets to capture their fourth win in a row. With the win, GU improves to 5-5 on the season while the Retrievers slide to 1-7. 

Hoya Highlights

• Dionna Mitchell led the Hoya offense with a team-high, and season-high 20 kills. Maria Filippova and Katherine McGregor followed with 15 and 10 kills, respectively.
• Mitchell also led the squad with three service aces and 17 digs.
• Filippova notched a team-high four blocks for the Hoyas and Berkeley Ploder tallied four.
• Juleigh Urbina paced the offense with a squad-best 29 assists, followed closely by Natalie Nguyen with 26.
