WASHINGTON - Freshman Will Caldwell was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week as well as the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday after a 2-0 week for the Hoyas. Additionally, senior Max Viera was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

• Caldwell delivered on both ends of the pitch in a 2-0 week for the Hoyas. The two contests marked his first two career starts on the Hilltop.
• On the defensive end, Caldwell was part of a group that limited Rider and James Madison to just three shots on target in a pair of 4-0 wins.
• The freshman defender also made a difference on the attack, tallying his first collegiate goal in the win over JMU.
• This is his first-career weekly award and the first for the Hoyas this season.

Max Viera | Sr. | M | Burbank, Ill.

• Viera had a big week for the Hoyas scoring two goals in the win over JMU.
• He then added an assist and drew a penalty kick in the 4-0 win against Rider.
• The five points were the first of the season for the senior who started both contests.
• This is Viera's first-career weekly honor and the fourth nod to the honor roll for the Blue & Gray this season.
