Men’s Soccer Travels to George Mason on Tuesday

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's soccer team will make the short trip to Fairfax, Virginia on Tuesday evening to take on the George Mason University Patriots. Kickoff at George Mason Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

  • Georgetown won its third-consecutive contest on Friday by a score of 5-0 as the squad downed the Butler University Bulldogs in the BIG EAST Conference opener.
  • Senior Zach Zengue led the way with his first-career hat trick as the Hoyas dominated throughout the game.
  • Junior Oliver Stafford and freshman Loukas Maroutsis also tallied goals in the rout, and senior Max Viera notched a pair of helpers.
  • On the defensive end of the pitch, it was third-consecutive shutout as senior Tenzing Manske and sophomore Charlie DeMarco combined for the clean sheet.
  • For his efforts against Butler, Zengue was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday while Stafford earned a spot on the weekly honor roll.
  • Zengue is leading the squad in scoring with six goals and three assists for 15 points on the season. He ranks ninth in the nation and leads the BIG EAST in both total points and total goals.
  • Viera is second with two goals and three assists for seven points on the season, while sophomore Mitchell Baker rounds out the top three with three goals for six points for the campaign. 
  • Senior Tenzing Manske has played 692 minutes in the goal and has a 0.78 goals-against average as well as two shutouts and two combined to his credit.
