WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team defeated the Seton Hall Pirates, 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17), on Friday night in South Orange, New Jersey. With the win, GU improves to 8-6 and 1-0 in BIG EAST play on the season while the Pirates slide to 6-6 and 0-1 in conference play.

Starting conference play with this win under our belts gives us a lot of confidence and I'm excited to take on St. John's tomorrow!"
Hoya Highlights
- Dionna Mitchell led the Hoya charge with a team-best 14 kills, while Samantha Soderlund and Katherine McGregor chipped in 11 and nine kills, respectively.
- Kamryn Lee-Caracci led the service game, leading the team with four aces with Natalie Nguyen and Mitchell behind her with two each.
- On defense, Lee-Caracci led the squad with six blocks.
- Juleigh Urbina paced the offense with a team-high 23 assists, with Nguyen close behind at 18.
- Ubina tallied a team-best nine digs while Mitchell had eight for the Hoya defense.
