Hoyas Rally for 2-2 Draw at DePaul

WASHINGTON  - The Georgetown University women's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw against DePaul on Wednesday afternoon in Chicago, as Aliza Mannon and Sara Chrnelich scored to help the Hoyas rally from a two-goal deficit. With the result, Georgetown moves to 5-4-5 overall and 2-2-3 in BIG EAST play, while DePaul moves to 4-4-6 overall and 1-2-3 in conference action.

Head Coach Dave Nolan

  • "Today's game was another tough scrap on the road at a difficult venue for us. I was very disappointed with our 1st half and we deservedly went down 0-2 early. We didn't compete at all, which is the first thing you need to do here. Two bad mistakes and we were in a huge hole. At half time I challenged the team to respond, we changed our shape, addressed our will to compete and thankfully we started to get back into the game. We scored two excellent goals as Aliza and Sara finished when we got in behind them. In an effort to go and try win it, we almost lost it at the end so a draw is probably a fair result and all we deserved."
