Georgetown Falls 1-0 to UConn in Season Finale

WASHINGTON  - The Georgetown University women's soccer team closed out its 2026 campaign with a 1-0 loss to UConn on Saturday night at Joseph J. Marrone Stadium. The Hoyas finished the season with a 5-7-5 overall record and a 2-5-3 mark in BIG EAST play.

Head Coach Dave Nolan

  • "This was a tough way for us to end the season, another tough conference loss where I felt we deserved better. Considering we had nothing to play for, the girls were still determined to finish strong. UConn were fighting for their season and put us under some early pressure. However after an initial spell we really managed to slow them down and created some good chances ourselves. They looked to have run out of ideas and we were looking more likely to win it late on. Unfortunately we gave up a deserved PK and against the run of play they took the lead. We tried hard to tie it up but credit to UConn they defended us well and we ran out of time. Thank you to our Seniors for four years of service, our two Grad Transfers for their help this year and the rest of our group for their best efforts. We will lick our wounds and hopefully the team can get back on track next year"
